A quick and agile introduction to road bikes

PostedSeptember 6, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
From a new to road cycling standpoint, the first thing you notice astride the Tarmac Sport is its lack of weight, like other carbon bikes it's light and responsive. You can feel just how responsive it rides as soon as you push down on the pedal, it begs to be pushed and even as a newbie you find yourself out of the saddle, clicking up the gears.
I've been using it for my commute and the odd weekend sportive for nearly a month now and it's riding well with no problems other than a loose head bolt that was quickly tightened.
If your looking for an entry level carbon bike with a good level of kit be sure to consider this.

Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Having spent a lot of time researching bikes, I always came back the Tarmac. A great bike that suits my needs for the Sportive rides and my personal challenge of Calais to Nice in September. Thoroughly recommend this bike...........

Pros: Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Uncomfortable, slow, unresponsive
bought this to replace my boardman hybrid comp, it looks good is all i can say about it, the boardman walks all over it in every department, i found it slow off the mark, slow through the gears, slow top end and very poor handling, uncomfortable, to me i have wasted 1700 pounds and sadly sold my hybrid for 250, now selling this to buy the latest boardman hybrid

Fantastic handling and quick off the mark.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
After months of road bike research and testing, I decided on this Specialized Tarmac Sport 2013. This bike was slightly out of my budget range but after testing the Tarmac at my local Evans store, was so impressed with the razor sharp handling and its response off the mark was very quick, I had to stretch my budget to buy this bike. The Tarmac Sport is very light and its components are very much what you would expect from Shimano 105, impressive. Shifting and gear changes are very quite and for me this bike looks great with its white saddle and handgrips and the lovely retro white stripe on the frame. Specialized bikes have the knack of drawing you in with the retro looks and I wouldn't look any further than this fantastic road bike. It's a must. Try it yourself and you'll see what I mean. I have road 100+ miles on this bike and have only had it for a couple of weeks. Looking forward to 2013 and a long season of sportives with this fantastic bike.

For the price this bike is just about perfect

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
I bought a specialised allez a few months ago, however after really getting the bug i decided to upgrade to a full carbon frame. Was looking to spend in the region of £1500 so opted to test ride both the 2013 Roubaix and Tarmac Sport.
The Roubaix is a fantastic bike extremely comfortbale, however a little heavy for a carbon and would seem to be more adapted to day in day out touring. The Tarmac sport...wow for the price there was no competition the minute i got on this bike i knew it was more me....the riding position, frame geometry, components, agility, weight and as soon as you put your foot down this thing pulls with ease.
A super bike for the price and looking forward to many rides on this, from recent rides this bike is very good up hills..eats up the ground with ease.
