Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
I just rode a few kilomters on the quick cx1, it is light and quick either in city streets or in easy cross country; good riding out of the saddle
Fast mover and good stopping power discs

Worth the extra money...

PostedSeptember 11, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
I was looking for a bike that would be able to deal with my commute to work (16miles) and to use for leisure at the weekends on the trails and paths around town.....
The Quick CX 1 doesn't disappoint in any way.....
Despite it's expensive price-tag I have been delighted with the overall performance - it really does glide along and I'm looking forward to covering many more miles over the coming months....

Worth paying that bit extra

PostedJune 18, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
I tested masses of other bikes in the £700 - £1000 price range before buying this one, but this cannondale was easily the best (for my purposes at least) and was worth paying a couple of hundred pounds extra for that extra quality.
For a commuting bike it has a great riding position that is not too "racy" but not so upright that you feel like you should stick a basket on the front. The bike glides along effortlessly (although this may just be my feeling as I've been used to riding an old mountain bike to work for the last couple of years) and the remote suspension system is just fantastic - I love the fact that you can have the firmness set anywhere in the whole range, and the position of the "switch" is very sensible too.
Only downside would be that the gears are not quite as smooth as my old Kona mountain bike (from 2003), but I found this to be a general issue when comparing current gears with my old bike as the old Shimano LX components were simply fantastic. Also, it's a new bike, so may just need a bit of time to ease them in.
Overall, very happy with this purchase and glad I didn't compromise for a cheaper model.
Happy with Evans service too.

Smooth and comfortable

PostedMay 28, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
I wanted a bike that would be economical on the road, light, as well as being capable and fun off-road as well. In these respects this bike has ticked all the boxes. It glides effortlessly on roads, and the fitted Fatty DL50 forks do offer some welcome protection from the bumps and holes. I'm glad to report that it has coped just as well along the towpaths and dirt as well.
Overall I love the riding position, the overall quality, smoothness in operation and its looks. There are few nice touches here and there as well including the wiring of the cables through the down-tube and the extra mounts for panniers and stuff. Do note however, that the proprietary Fatty fork does mean that some more mainstream mud-guard systems may be incompatible.
My other criticisms would be that I would have expected a few upgrades in the overall componentry that you get as part of the package, and that you cannot tune the dampening of the Fatty DL50 fork. Perhaps a few more mm of travel as well... still it works and you do notice the difference when it is on and the outlook bumpy.
I'm looking forward to covering many more miles with her yet.
