Very pleased with the bike

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
I bought this bike about a week and a half ago as part of a cycle ot work scheme. I wanted to start commuting by bike to keep fit having given up playing rugby.
It looks good and handles well, and doesn't at all feel heavy. The gears took me a while to get used to, but that's more me than the bike. The gears do need a bit of tuning now, having done 50+ miles, but I guess that's the cables stretching as the bike is broken in. I've been doing about 15 mile round trips to work a couple of times a week, and it's felt fairly good.
The riding position is pretty confortable (I was a wee bit saddle sore after the first few rides), and I've not felt any stiffness or pain in my back and shoulders from the riding position, which is great especially as I'm 6 foot 4 and have some niggling rugby injuries.
I hadn't had a bike since I was a kid, and the guys in the Gateshead store where incredibly helpful in talking through my requirements and what spec to go for, and I definitely didn't feel like they were trying to 'upsell' me anything - it was about getting me the right bike. They also took a fair bit of time talking me through using the bike and maintenance, so pretty impressed all round.

Faulty after only 4 weeks

No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Poor quality, Expensive
Was impressed at first with how light, fast and responsive it is on the road, off road is a very different story though, picked up two punctures on the very soft and not very grippy tyre's that came with it,remedied that by fitting Swalble Rapid Rob tyre's,off road and the occasional kerb hop I noticed a very loud clunk in the front forks on the upward movement, mentioned this when I took it back but was assured that was normal, also the bottom bracket started making clunking noises under pressure, they have replaced the bottom bracket which is all well and good but doesn't inspire me to do any more off road riding with it and now I wish I'd bought a road bike instead,my old £120 Apollo I bought 10 years ago has never had any of these faults and has seen alot of miles both on and off road,I'm not exactly a hard off roader and I only weigh 10 stone 8,I mainly ride on the road and light trails which could be done on a hybrid or cycloross bike, both of which would be alot faster on the road,I left reviewing the bike untill it's six week check up,I'm not expecting the bike to last as long as my old one and I'll probably sell it before it falls apart.

Great Bike, Great Service!

PostedMarch 28, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
I purchased this bike for my 12 year old son. He is delighted with it. It looks good, has all the right features including disk brakes, quick release wheels and the gears mechanism on the handlebars just like my more expensive bike.
The purchase process was also excellent. I purchased on-line and collected from the store in central Birmingham. I received a phone call to advise the bike was in stock and ready to collect and I arranged a date for this. The bike was ready when we arrived and the staff were careful to go through the safety checks etc before we left the store. There was also an excellent range of extras to buy - helmet, hi vis vest, lights etc - somehow these are easier to buy in a shop rather than on line.
All in all a great product and great service to purchase it.
