Big bike big fun

PostedJune 15, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great, fun to ride
Cons: rear tyre not grippy, lack's flingability
I've gained a lot more control on gnarly tracks both up and down hill. Subsequently going a lot faster with a lot more confidence. The big wheels just take everything in their stride. Now making technically challenging tracks a lot more fun.
I'm 6ft so test rode the 19" and 21" inch frames first. Had a very different feel to them so make sure you terst a few different sizes before committing. I went for the 19" in the end.
I also like a high more upright riding position which this is ideal for. If your a shorty or prefer small ride this isn't for you.
Too early to say on the components as I've only done 4 big rides. Everything seems fine.
This is about the same weight as my old Rockhopper but it feels a lot lighter and agile. You really need to test it to see what I mean.
The picture makes the bike look orange which doesn't do it justice. It's a lovelty burnished bronze colour.
On the negative side, the rear tyre is thinner and less grippy than the front so slides about a lot in wet conditions. You will definitely need to buy something a bit more chunky for winter.
Also harder to fling the bike about tight twisty tracks.
But overall, these are both a small price to pay for considerably more fun and performance.
Highly recommend you give it a go.

Gary Fisher is the best

PostedJanuary 15, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
This is just the best bike youcan by for that money, everything is just right, I was first thinking of changing the disc brakes for a more known brand, but they are just excellent, the combination of SRAM and Shimano just works great, the only really really minor point are the pedals.
The bike looks much much better in real, this just outperforms anything sub 1000 pounds, do nit think twice, this is just a great bike well worth its money, it probably should have cost more as this is just a great buy
