Customer reviews for Hope Pro 2 Evo NoTubes ZTR Arch EX 29er Rear Wheel

Hope Pro 2 Evo NoTubes ZTR Arch EX 29er Rear Wheel

The brand new Arch EX rim is lighter, wider and tougher than the original Arch rim. The internal arch design provides durability and stiffness, two assets especially important for heavier riders. Although lightweight, the Arch EX can handle aggressive trail riding. Quite possibly the best rim for any situation. Inspire confidence in your ride with the ZTR Arch EX. If you are after a sturdy and light 29er rear wheel, see what Hope can do for you.

A good all round rim on an ever reliable Hope hub

Posted14 August 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, reliable
Cons: Heavy
The arch ex rim is a useful step up from the crest for 29ers. It adds a descent amount of stiffness which can be missing from the lighter crest when pushed hard. I would say if you are over 11st and riding 'enthusiastically' I would look at this one, say 13st plus definitely this rather than the crest.
Tubeless performance is excellent once you fit the stans yellow tape (not the green hope tape they come with) although there are the known limitations with some tighter bead tyres e.g. geax TNT casings.
Build quality seems fine so far and hope hoops I've had in the past have been good here. The hubs run well and I expect them to do so for years.
The hubs are a little heavy but that seems to be the tradeoff for reliability. Not that you're likely to do it, but the rims aren't that keen on running narrow road tyres.
