This product has delivered on my expectations

Posted11 November 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
I have been able to utilise all its features except for the power meter. The navigation through the functions are all intuitive and easy to use. I have also enjoyed the features that garmin connect provides. From Conversation with other cyclist it delivers more or less the same features. I also like the bluetooth feature that allows you to sync rides to your phone without having to plug it into anything.

Very poor

No, I do not recommend this product.
Cons: Expensive
Waste of time and $377 buying this product if you want to map your trail rides or want to follow gpxtrails as soon a you ride in to wooded areas the device looses satellite connection
So basically a total waste of money on my point .only any good for road riding. For mtb trail rides best to just buy a os maps it's much easier and cheaper !!!! ! totally peed off with it

Garmin Edge 810 - great cycle computer

Posted29 July 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
Cons: Expensive
I bought the. Garmin Edge 810 as I was about to embark on a long road trip. I bought a cycle package with UK OS Map, cadence, speed And heart rate. It took me a couple of reads of the instructions to get the hang of configuring the screen to show the info I wanted, marking out a route on Connect and downloading it to the Edge but once I got the hang of it, it was all great. The screen is a bit small for the OS Map, but it is still worth having the maps and ability to have directions - though I've not used that feature yet. Battery life is very good and one of my days was over 12 hours of cycling and it still had power left for a few more hours. the ability to Bluetooth to a phone of tablet is great when away from home. Also I understand that there are APIs that allow automatic copying up uploaded data from Garmin Connect to the likes of Strava and Mapmyride.

Excellent product and easy to use

Posted20 September 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great, ease of use
Cons: Expensive
Comprehensive, well-made product that works very well and is easy and intuitive to use. The quick start guide was enough for me to get out and use the Edge 810 very quickly and I've now used it seven or eight times including an eight hour MTB ride in awful weather conditions and it has proved accurate and reliable with a good battery life despite the screen being permanently on. I have the UK OS 1:50,000 maps and they too have proved readable and very useful for cycling and walking in unfamiliar areas. I have uploaded data to garminconnect and to Strava and both have worked well. I'm pleased with the Edge810, my only criticism is its high cost.

Excellent product. Great for exploring new areas.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
Excellent product with a great feature set. Integrates well with Garmin connect for viewing ride statistics. One area where Garmin could improve would be to incorporate OS map plotting on Garmin Connect to improve plotting MTB rides. That said there are other websites that provide the ability to plot courses using OS maps.
