Cycleops SuperMagneto Pro Turbo Trainer

Like Getting Four Trainers in One. Choose a resistance curve and start riding. Tailor your workout with the SuperMagneto Pro Trainer. It offers four resistance curves: easy, road, interval and mountain. No matter how modest or ambitious your goals, this versatile trainer can help you reach them. Easy Setting: Warm up before you ride hard. Road Setting: Ride all day to build volume and build a sweat. Interval Setting: Step up to a more intense workout. Mountain Setting: Take on the trainer''s most challenging ride. Each setting allows the unit's four rare earth magnets to move to a different controlled working diameter as centrifugal force pushes them away from the center. The farther away the magnet is from center, the higher the resistance. Spring-loaded magnets create a more desirable progressive resistance power curve. Because we designed the flywheel with more material on the outer surface, the SuperMagneto Pro delivers a smoother ride and more road-like feel. Precision-balanced flywheels add to the realism.

The best 'road feel' turbo

Posted26 March 2015
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight
Having owned a few turbos over the years and always dreading winter training indoors due to a non-road like feel to them this turbo has got to be the most road like feel I have ever used. My last turbo was a Kurt Rock and Roll so not a cheap one and by all accounts that is a very fine trainer............until you put it back to back with the CycleOps! There really is a noticeable difference, the heavy mag flywheel gives a road like feel when riding and even lets the bike freewheel. There are 4 easily selectable levels so you can just spin for a recovery or set it up for a proper mountain climb or intervals - there's enough resistance to see 800+ watts in a sprint. Setup is a doddle taking all of 2mins, easily packed away for easy storage or taking to a race to warm up The A frame is solid and even when sprinting out the saddle the trainer remains firm and stable. It's fair to say I've got back in to indoor training thanks to this trainer - fully recommended. nearly forgot it's a lot cheaper than the Kurt and those nice people at Evans will price match too.

Comes ready to use and the ride is smooth

Posted02 November 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Looks great
With no real idea of which product to choose from I opted for a top end magnetic trainer instead of a lower end (and much raved about) fluid one. I made the right choice. I've ridden the fluid pro and although it was good, it wasn't as smooth as the super mag pro. The rear clamp makes sure the bike is well fixed and the bike feels stiff in the frame, good for standing up and putting in extra effort. The resistance in each of the 4 different modes is noticeable and does make a difference on the legs if you choose to use them. Comparing the noise with the fluid pro, they are identical. The 4 curve resistance levels and the ultra smooth ride won me over and I'd recommend this trainer to anyone who is planning on maintaining their fitness levels and strength in the legs over the winter months.
