Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
I wanted something to keep for touring whilst commuting on a pinnacle hybrid. I didn't want to spend well-well over a grand on an expensive range of tourers but still wanted good quality. I'd looked at alternatives at £400 ish. The Ridgeback seems way better quality than that and easily good enough for my touring needs [cycle-camping on tour with 4 panniers and a 17 stone (238 lb) rider.
I used the test ride facility and the service was excellent.
Very pleased with the ride and the bike itself. The componentry seems solid enough. Only the brake levers and the triple chainset give any indication that isn't Galaxy quality, but they are good enough and work well. The triple seems to be solidly riveted rather than bolted but I have no intention of changing the gearing. The bars are huge and wide which makes for great comfort (wide bars make a big difference for me) and the tyres are a medium width not the usual tractor tyres that I always remove and give away. The tyres fitted are perfect for road touring even with the weight I put through them. I would buy it again tomorrow and would pocket the £600 quid difference between this and more expensive tourers.
