Nice bicycle, outstanding value

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
This is a good bicycle, and for the money it's astonishing.
I was looking for a new commuter, and after owning a Dawes Mojave since 2006 (another good value, trusty bike), I finally decided on the Ridgeback, primarily for cost reasons.
It's hard to criticise this little machine. It's well-built, sturdy and rattle-free, and it runs smoothly and quickly over both the tarmac roads and rough canal towpath which form my daily commute. Gear change is snappy and accurate and the brakes are keen. Also, for whatever reason (weight, gearing, bearings, geometry, tyres) my cycling on this bike is faster than on my last one.
I notice one of the reviewers mentions it was slightly heavier than expected -- well, after doing a direct comparison with my older Dawes, the Ridgeback is noticeably lighter, so that certainly isn't an issue for me.
Criticism? Quick-release levers on the wheels would have been a nice touch for fast emergency puncture repairs on the way to work, but that's fixed for pennies.
This is one of those rare occasions these days where you look at what you've bought and what you spent and think "Hey I actually did OK there"!
It's a nice bike -- and usual top-notch service, courtesy and expertise from Evans.

Pros: Good value, Good quality, Looks great
Cons: no suspension
Beautiful and fast bike, and definitely, good value. It's a bit heavier than I expected and lacks of suspension, but I'm extremely happy I bought it.
