Great beam design and brightness

PostedJune 21, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: mounting can be improved
The Strada Mk4 is the best light for road and commuting. It has a good spread of light and definitely not dazzling to oncoming traffic/cyclists. Light body is built like a tank and will survive a atomic explosion. Fantastic battery life, on PGM6 i can use the light for weeks without charging.
Only thing that Exposure needs to address is the mounting and remote switch. It will be good to allow horizontal adjustments to the mounting but i guess the beam design is almost perfect that we don't need any further adjustments. Remote switch mounting is bizarre, they provided a long strip of velcro and it took me a while to figure out how to mount it to the handlebar.

Great for use on unlit roads!

PostedNovember 29, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, excellent beam pattern, rugged metal mount, great illumination
Absolutely superb light with excellent illumination of unlit roads. You can really see where you are going with this designed for road use light. Turns a scary ride into a safe one and makes winter evening rides possible. Good beam pattern with good verge lighting. Good range of power options with lower levels for lit roads. Separate dip switch a boon. Excellent strong and durable mount. First class product. Don't baulk at the price. It does everything claimed, unlike others. If you want to light up a hillside, other lights may be better off road, but on road this is great because of the more suitable beam pattern.

Lack of proper on/off switch causing major issues

PostedNovember 12, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
There are many good things about this light but are massively over shadowed by a simple problem... I can't turn the light off.
I use the Mk4 Strada with a Mk2 Red Eye rear light.
On about half the occasions I've used it this is fine and the light turns on/off changes from high to low power as it should.
But on the other 50% of times once the light is on after about half hour of use, or if you accidentally pull the cable for the rear light out out before powering down the main light or, break some other rule dictating the sequence you are allowed to power up/down plug/unplug the rear light it seems to lock up the microprocessor that controls the button functions and I can't turn the light off.
With no access to the batteries or a proper mechanical on off switch I have to wait for the light to completely discharge, then re-charge before I can use them as normal again.
My conclusion is either (a) I have a faulty product. or (b) The Mk.4. Strada is not fully compatible with the red eye rear light.
For the price I paid I'm extremely disappointed and more than a little irritated.

Good light

PostedOctober 12, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: attachment to handlebar can be tricky
I have done a few rides on a paved road, very good lightning capacity. I can easily go over 30 km/h and see enough road. The pheriperal visibility is also very good, not just a narrow beam.
The only minus is the attachment. It is very secure, but can only be used if the handlebar is round. Many carbon road handlebars are only round very close the the stem. In my case this and edge 800 on stem do not fit very well. Edge needs to be tilted which is suboptimal.
