Crisp and positive shifting, paddles a bit large

PostedSeptember 9, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Comfortable
Great shifter this. Seems to shift very crisply and smoothly. The paddles are larger than I'm used to but once you get used to it they are spot on.

Good but probably not worth the premium over zee

PostedJuly 2, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Cons: levers ara bit plasticky and too long
Shifts very smoothly and the 2 way thumb/finger trigger is a way better than srams one way stuff as is the cable routing.
I'm not a massive fan of the plasticky longer levers though as I'm used to running my shifter outside of my brake lever and the old stumpy saint shifter was perfect for this, I've now had to move things around nothing major but still a bit of a pain.
The only benefit I can see of this shifter over the Zee one is you can change 2 cogs in one push when changing up, which whilst usefull may not be worth the extra cash.

Solid shifting, good feel

PostedSeptember 13, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great, solid
I'm used to good quality shifting and have always used XTR shifters which I really rate for crisp shifting, great build and longevity and much better size barrel adjusters which don't bend as opposed to cheaper shifters. I bought the new Saint 10 speed to mate with the new Shadow+ Mech which I got to replace my old smashed 9spd Saint. Set up was as easy as always and there was plenty of new outer to go with the new cable. First impressions have been very positive, shifting isn't as heavy as some reviews would lead you to believe, certainly there is a solid 'click' or even a 'clunk' when shifting into a higher gear but the thumb shifts into lower gears are smooth and easy. I'd read reviews talking about digit fatigue on longer rides and having to shift with a whole hand?!!. I put in three consecutive 5 hour days on this set up in the mud and experienced no mis-shifts or tiredness in my thumb. Obviously the real test will be over the Winter but basically, the same as any shifter as long as the cable is kept clean and lubed I can't foresee any issues. As a footnote to this, I've gone to 1x10 with an 11-36 cassette and the Saint Rear Mech which Shimano don't recommend and there's been no issues apart from a bit of chain line adjustment so anyone else thinking of going that way, go fo it.
