Okay for the city, not the countryside

PostedJuly 13, 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Beam is quite focused.
Not bright enough for use on unlit country lanes, even when using the brighter beam.
Battery life using normal beam and bright beam on occasions was about 4 hours.
Good fixing and battery change quick and easy.
In summary, a light to help you be seen in the city rather than a light that helps you see in the countryside.

Bright light, but at a price

PostedMay 21, 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
Stylish and bright. This light does what it says on the tin. Durable and is easy to put on and take off. Care must be taken to ensure it clips into place and is secure before every ride.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight
A very adequate light for riding in towns and on lanes, but not designed for off road. Lightweight, and with an easy to fix bracket.

You could do worse... but you could do better too.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Cons: Expensive, not very powerful for its price
The Lunar 25 Lux is a decent enough light; brighter than most of my earlier lights of similar price have been, but outshone by the best of them (at half the price, no less). The light beam is relatively narrow and focused, so it illuminates a small spot well but leaves the surrounding area dim. Depending on your preferences and/or additional lights, this can be either a good or a bad thing. There are three modes - dim, bright, and flash.
The rest of the product is equally hit-and-miss. The casing seems tough, but it is very easy to open, so I fear that a bump or a small crash could easily separate the two halves. The mounting bracket can fit handlebars both skinny and fat, but you may need a screwdriver to fit. The bracket allows you to point the light a few degrees either side, which is nice but, in my opinion, not particularly necessary.
On the whole, it's not a bad light by any means. I suspect that commuters and urban cruisers will appreciate the battery-saving low beam, yet will still be able to see where they're going well enough thanks to the focused beam (which is more than can be said of some lights). If you ride in unlit areas a lot, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

solid + bright

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality
I got this one to replace a 3LED cateye that I broke. This one is so much brighter and has an extra-bright mode which is great for unlit roads. Feels so much more sturdy aswell.
Great value at special £18 price.

Bright but focused light.

PostedJanuary 19, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, bright
Cons: chunky
I bought this light to replace one that was not bright enough to illuminate unlit roads. The light was a good replacement for this purpose, as it shines a bright although focused light spot onto the road.
The attachment has 3 coarse settings and then the usual tightening screw. This didn't result in a perfect fit for my handlebar, but it wasn't noticeably wobbly, so it's OK for me.
The light uses 2 AA batteries and is a bit on the chunky side size-wise (as you can probably tell from the picture), but it does give a rugged impression.
