Customer reviews for Crank Brothers Kronolog Adjustable Seatpost

Crank Brothers Kronolog Adjustable Seatpost

Robust Simplicity: The Kronolog is a very simple design, with a limited number of functioning parts. Fewer parts means fewer failures. The Kronolog passes 2.7 times EN fatigue testing, making it twice as strong as other posts on the market. Mechanical Design: The mechanical design allows for very accurate, precise movement-like a Swiss watch. The Kronolog is the only mechanical post available that is infinitely adjustable. Hydraulic Feel: Although it functions mechanically, the Kronolog feels hydraulic. It is smooth, supple, and quiet. Air Spring Technology: The air spring technology lets you adjust the preload and return speed simply with air. Just add or remove air through the valve at the bottom of the post using a standard shock pump. Two-Stage Damping: Air damping allows the saddle to return to a normal riding position in two, smooth stages. The initial return is quick, and then the post slows down for the last inch of return. Rotational Stability: The unique keying system between the quill and shaft results in substantially improved rotational stability. Stronger & Lighter: The Kronolog seatpost offers more travel, durability, and robustness, all at about 50g less than Crank Bros' previous adjustable seatpost. Two-Way Locking: The seatpost locks into position both upward and downward. Pull up on your saddle, and the seatpost stays in place. Improved cable routing: The cable routes from the post's stationary body, which means the cable stays put as the post moves up and down. No excess cable to interfere with your riding. You can even adjust the routing so that the cable routes from either the front or back of the post. Travel Adjust: If you'd like to shorten the travel of the post to less than 5 inches, that's possible too. Spacers can easily be added to reduce the travel in 20mm increments. Remote Adjust: The Kronolog remote attaches to the handlebar using a standard handlebar clamp. Change the lever to either the left or right side by removing the T-25 bolt and swapping the barrel adjuster. Proven Clamp Mechanism: The infinitely adjustable, single-bolt clamping system is market proven.

Brilliant bit of engineering!

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Had mine for 8 months done a few hundred miles on it with non problems yet.
installation, super simple and with a clever design of bar lever mount you are sure to find perfect space for it on your bars.
Looks, great, very happy with it. They have made it very tidy and because the cable is bottom mounted (and so doesn't move with the post) you can cable tire it nearly away.
Use, here is the 2 downsides first you need to watch to return motion is a little enthusiastic second if you are sitting on it hard when you activate it marks are left on the post. Otherwise it has worked fantastically for me.
Finally, love it! Best to get a mud guard/ crud catcher as this will extend its life. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Lightweight, Looks great, simple to install
Cons: not robust
Bought two of these thinking that they were a great deal, planned to put one on my Stumpy and other on my Camber. Fitted one to Camber, 2 rides later 2 malfunctions, post drops suddenly and the cable tension loosens very quickly.
Disappointed as the post is easy to install and has a simple operation.
It's just not robust enough........Shame that as CB's gear is normally decent stuff, both to be returned.......

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable
Cons: grease on the post
one of the main complain I ear about the drop post is movement in the saddle. So far I when out 4 time with this one and no problem the shape of the post seems to have resolve this issue. the remote is easy enough to install and once you are used to not grab your bike by the post you stop having grease on your hands.
Great fun allow you to be confident on a new trial as you can quickly adapt to sudden changes.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: nonesorry
The main reason I chose this post was the operation. With operating mechanism on the tube not on the post it means the operating cable can be clamped up in place and left, simple! No hanging cables to foul up why dont they all use this system, surely its got to be better.Well Crank Brothers,it sold it for me.There is no free play in the post and the mechanism is really good.I weigh over 17 stone and not once has it let me down even after a few great runs round Cannock Chase, really pleased with it.

Much better than predecessor

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
Have had the Joplin 4 and while loving the functionality, was not impressed with reliability, sideways and upwards movement and tendency to be slow returning to the UP position. The Kronolog is a world apart ! No sideways movement and up to now ( 6 rides ) has worked flawlessly. Would definitely recommend
