Pinnacle Dolomite Four 2012 Road Bike

The Dolomite offers the speed and efficiency of a light road bike with the practical advantage of being able to accommodate larger tyres and mudguards due to the deeper-drop calliper brakes. 2012 Dolomites use an all-new frame design with revised tube profiles and geometry. The geometry retains the close-clearance, short wheelbase feel of a race bike while balancing the nimble feel with secure front end handling that would be at home in the Belgian spring classics, so it has a perfect blend of characteristics for a bike that can be ridden year-round in the UK. A carbon fork, slim seat stays and a taper-oval shaped top tube increase rider comfort while the front end of the bike retains plenty of stiffness for power transfer and a quick handling response.

Overall excellent product and great value

PostedOctober 16, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: gearing
This is my first road bike so not much to compare it to BUT it is light, fast overall good value but the gearing is a little off. When trying to get up some decent downhill speed I quickly find I've ran out of gears!
Don't let this put you off as the bike is great.

A great ride from someone "coming back" to bikes

PostedFebruary 6, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight
First a disclaimer - this is my first "proper" road bike so I can't compare with other brands in this bracket except those I checked out prior to purchase, and hence I won't go 5-star. But coming from one hybrid and one old Raleigh racer to this lighter, carbon-forked almost zero-resistance bike has been a complete eye-opener.
Having looked at Specialized, Cannondale and others in the price range, riding a couple of variations on test including hybrids, I took the advice regarding the high spec of components over a "name" in order to get what I considered the best deal under a grand, and fitted mudguards for winter.
A comfortable ride, quite effortless at times, my first few forays along some dodgy surfaces in the countryside around MK highlight the lack of vibration, ease of gear changing and high efficiency. I hadn't done a 25 mile-plus ride for quite a while, but it was a complete pleasure.
Maybe, given the roads, I need a stronger tyre - but at least I know that puncture repair is simple with the quick release wheels!
Recommend this bike.

Excellent value

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Poor quality
I bought this bike for a winter trainer/commuter and have to say i am very impressed with it. I have owned numerous bikes and would call myself a "serious" cyclist. Compared to a similar priced ribble winter frame i had before this is so much smoother and more comfortable on long rides.
I have marked down quality as a con, as some of the components (saddle, stem and bars) are obviousley very cheap models to keep the whole price of bike down.
I bought with £200 off so at £700 this bike is an absolute steal with 105 group.
Highly recomended.

Fantastic Bike and Great Value for Money

PostedSeptember 12, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Unattractive
I test rode several bikes including the Fuji Robaix and a Scott. For £1000 or less, neither bike had as good a group set or wheels as the Pinnacle. Sure, the Pinnacle might not look as cool or flashy as the Fuji but it is better value for money, simply based on the component quality. The Fuji for £1000 had Tiagra which felt clunky. The 105 on the Pinnacle is very smooth and a far better riding experience. So to summarise, I might not look as cool but my groupset, wheels and weight are superior!

Bought the Dolomite 4 in August - my first road bike - and found my journey to work much faster than on my old Hybrid. Hills are so much easier. However the tyres are a bit suspect as I was averaging a puncture a week so changed to Gatorskins which seem ok so far.
