Good GPS. Garmin alternative.

PostedMarch 30, 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Lightweight
Cons: compatibility with endomondo web and others softs.
Little but a lot function. As far as 6 diferent datas in the same screen. Not expensive. Really is an alternative to Garmin.

Superb little device

PostedJune 12, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
I was a long time Garmin user, but switched to Bryton a few months ago. This is a brilliant little device, especially paired to my Power2Max power metre. The screens are completely customisable to your training requirements, and there are some excellent on-board training sessions and tests - for example for threshold power. The screen is more than big enough to view the data numbers, and I was also able to mount it to my Bontrager out-front computer mount. Highly recommended!

Everything you need in a computer

PostedOctober 28, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Looks great
Having been using a garmin edge 500 beforehand and having issues with the screen i decided to try a Bryton computer,
Initial setup was very easy, it detected my garmin speed/cadence & heartrate devices on setup. Three screens show all the information you need. Downloaded Bryton software from their website and upload from computer went smoothly.
I would recommend this unit as an alternative to Garmin unit plus it is a lot cheaper.

What a winner!

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
The Bryton Rider 40E GPS is a little stunner, and it is one piece of kit that you simply HAVE to have on your bike. It does what it says on the tin, and more. After the initial set up (setting a profile on the web portal), all my ride data can be uploaded, ready for analysis in less than 10 minutes after each ride. This is a good value GPS unit.

Does what it should - good value

PostedOctober 5, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value
Pros:
Way cheaper than other GPS cycling computers, yet does everything the competition does.
Lightweight. Easy to carry around in your pocket. Buttons are pretty good even with gloves. The different screens are easy to customize and the menu system is easy enough to understand without a manual.
Goes from turned off to recording in a second. Reasonable accurate.
The battery seems to be pretty good. Been using it about 0,5-1,5 hour every day for a few weeks, and just plugging it in to transfer data keeps it at full battery.
The heart rate strap is really comfortable - you almost forget you're wearing it.
Cons:
Took a while until I figured out to double-check that it was actually recording - lost a lot of miles in the beginning. Some auto start/stop would have been nice. The key tone is insanely loud and obnoxious, so you need to keep it on silent.
Only one bike mount. I know you can buy more, but at least two would be reasonable.
Takes a while (10+ minutes) until the thermometer becomes accurate.
The USB cable is only like 30 cm long, so if you have your USB ports on the bottom of the computer or behind you're going to have a bad time. Buy a separate long one.
When you plug in the device it opens up Internet Explorer, despite it not being the default browser, and I can't find any way to change it. The website (brytonsport.com) is a bit clunky, but you can just download the data in a different file format and use any of the million other sports tracking sites. The uploading process however is really slow.

Just for training

PostedMay 22, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Lightweight
Cons: bad routing
This product is ideal for training aid. It works with almost ANT+ sensors. You must pay attention on the pause feature, because it records all the time, unless you pause when you stop cycling. The feature My buddy is not present, but in Bryton site it appears as been there. As a GPS, in trail tracks, is very dificult stay on route. Not recommended for work with a training peaks WKO+ offline, without a payed account.
Training is very easy, helping you step by step. Good accuracy in recording tracks.
