Pretty good but gps hit and miss

PostedMarch 28, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: gps doesn't pick up easily
for the price this watch hits the mark. It does all of the essential jobs required. I would say that I am unable to get gps-pretty crucial if you're really needing this. I have sent this back to Evans and they have tested it it via the importer and they say no problems. If sat nav is crucial then go for something with a more reliable pick up and better chip set.
If this were a more expensive garmin watch with equivalent functions I would demand a refund-but it is 200 notes cheaper.
profile: 50 miles a week runner, 18 mins 5k runner. Summer, 200 plus miles non commuting cyclist.

Generally disappointing

PostedJanuary 6, 2013
No, I do not recommend this product.
Cons: Poor quality, poor interface, battery life
I was looking for something smaller, more like a wrist watch after I lost my Garmin 405 during a canoeing trip and decided upon the Bryton 35T. I've had it for about 2 weeks and I'm really disappointed with the product and regret my decision to buy it. (I bought it online from Evans Cycles - their service was excellent) Would not recommend this - the reasons being:
* Very complicated interface - still haven't figured it out properly (I'm not computer illetirate :-)
* Heart rate has to be re-linked to the watch every time you go training
* Heart rate sensor looses connection - on none of my rides did the heart rate sensor keep its connection for longer than 1,5 hours
* Battery life of 7,5 hours is short

All the features of the Garmin, plus waterproof.

PostedJuly 18, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Unattractive
I got this for triathlons as similar priced ones from Garmin aren't waterproof. It's a great watch that has all the features of it's competitors. The manual is a touch complicated and requires a bit of getting used to. GPS and HRM work perfectly. The display is very readable even whilst running/cycling etc. The design and styling is rather basic though and they could try to make the next model a bit nicer looking. It would be good if Evans could stock the Bryton bike mount for this watch. Only option is to buy the mount from an international site or buy the Garmin one instead.

Feature packed and easy tu use.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable
This is a good product and is easily a match for the equivalent Garmin product. The clincer for me is that this is waterproof unlike the a garmin Forerunner, which is handy for Tri training. The only reason for the 4 star rating is the Bryton software is quite as slick ad the Garmin connect software. You can export the raw data in a variety of formats for importing into Garmin connect or other software.
