Customer reviews for Fibre Flare Shorty Side Light

Fibre Flare Shorty Side Light

Fibre Flare is a portable self contained safety device having a flexible solid core side emitting fibre optic element interposed between two electronic housing ends; inside each of the housing ends is a single high intensity LED. When the LED's illuminate they emit a high intensity uni-directional light beam that is directed into each end of the fibre optic core; the fibre optic then distributes the LED light input and illuminates along its entire length to emit a high intensity Omni-directional light output visible from almost any direction at distances over 300 meters (constant or strobe).

Perfectly Lit up.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
I love this light, I needed something that would make me visible from the side at night and would stand out on my charity cycle through London and must say I am impressed with this light. I purchased the green one and it attached to the side bottom frame of my bike which wasn't tricky at all as comes with rubberised bands. Would thoroughly recommend this product.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Lightweight, Looks great
Bought this end of Jan - very happy with it, it is very visible, easy to fit and remove when my bike is unattended. Its seems to be made of reasonable quality, so I am hoping it will last me a few years.

not stable mount

PostedMay 26, 2013
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
The product itself is very good but I'm afraid the mounting stability.
When I put on sheet stay, because of vibration, it's started moving and may have the risk to hit wheel forks.

The perfect side visibility solution.

PostedFebruary 5, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, high visibility
I have very good forward and rear lights, so from the front and back you would need to be blind not to see me. But walk round to the side of my bike and the lights become far less effective. It's something I've been very careful about while riding in town, but these clever lights solve the problem beautifully. I mount mine to the front underside of the top tube so that the light is not directly in my eyes, because the Fibre Flares are surprisingly bright. The light is completely uniform along the length of the fibre, and in the case of my mounting position, illuminates my legs, the down tube and the ground directly below the bike. The lights can be steady, or a rapid attention grabbing flash and mount to your tubes using two adjustable rubber straps. The overall length of the short version is 25cm, with the actual illuminated section being 10cm, (15cm on the full length version). Although the fibre is not completely rigid, the instructions stress that it can only be bend very gently.
If you ride in town or city, and want to greatly increase your night time side visibility I can highly recommend these clever lights, especially in the orange or green colours.
