Oh Topeak adjustable...

PostedJuly 14, 2014
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Cons: Expensive, doesn't fit a red bull can, causes depression
Why oh why do you do this to me? I purchased this fine looking item with the hope that my prayers would be answered and that I am able to carry my wings-giving beverage on this bottle holder while bicycling.
Yes, I am speaking of tiny red bull cans which it appears to me that all bottle-cage manufacturers seem to detest. We live in a free world, why I am I unable to carry my red bull and blue bolt cans with me?
This adjustable device, I believed, would be the answer to all of my problems. I genuinely thought that I will no longer suffer from anxiety of caffeine absence while bicycling. Yet, when I picked this item from my local store, yes, I admit - Initially, I was very impressed with the fine quality and workmanship to produce this bottle-cage and yet sell at a significantly low price. However, my initial love for this item shortly disappeared as I attempted to adjust the bottle cage in order to accommodate my can of red bull. Did this work? No.
So, the point of this review: If you want just 'another' typical bottle cage which will only fit bottles that are intended for bottle cages... Then be my guest and purchase this item. It is sturdy, seems robust, and will do you the job. However, if, like me, you refuse to adhere to the monopoly that is typical plastic bottles for bicyclists... and you do wish to carry a small can of red bull with you... Then buy the Topeak Modula Cage EX. That half-the-price of the Modula 2 device (which, if you have not guessed yet, the 'adjustable-ness' of, is abysmal and pathetic) will solve all of your problems in life. Guaranteed. The fine gentlemen at the Clapham store of Evans allowed for me to exchange items post my click-and-collect purchase of the Modula 2.

Didn't get all the bits?

PostedApril 29, 2014
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Poor quality, not all parts sent
The product has nothing to connect it to the frame of the bike. So I have not fitted yet because I now have to buy some screws or attach some other way. I have not contacted Evans to resolve as it will probably cost more in phone calls than the cost of replacement? But very frustrated by this. OR am I missing the point and you do not get anything to connect it to the frame?
