Keep riding in the snow......Great !

Posted08 December 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Cons: Heavy, Expensive
Purchased last year, used this winter on dailly Allez et Retour 30km commute from France, across the border into Switzerland (Geneva).
These Schwalbe tyres don't stop the bike twitching around under you in fresh snow......I don't think anything does that; except perhaps not actually going !
They do however really give you confidence to push on in corners where without (or previously in my case!) you have continued straight on!
They are heavy and you feel this when first putting them on over a conventional tyre but their extra grip is gratifying when you role into a slippery corner on the road.
The reflective side wall tapes are bright and and an extra element of safety too.
Cannot speak for their off road prowess - as only used on tarmac to far

sure footed even on black ice

Posted14 February 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: sure footed, does what it says on the tin
Cons: Heavy
I meant to purchase these last year when it snowed but they were out of stock. This year I got my hands on a pair before it snowed. Not fantastic in deep fresh snow but what is?
Where these tyres really come into there own is when the snow becomes compact icy and slick. Totally sure footed even on black ice on the road they instil confidence.
You have to ride these in on the road for 25 miles before use to bed in the spikes. They really clatter along on a 25 mile road ride too. They are on the havy side and with high rolling resistance not great on tarmac unless icy.
