Tacx i-Genius T2000 Virtual Reality Trainer - Multiplayer

The i-Genius has a wireless motor brake with a computer-driven flywheel that generates high powers at low speeds. This makes the climbing of hills and mountains even more realistic. The i-Genius even features downhill drive. The i-Genius features PowerBack. This system converts the heat that is generated in the brake and released during the ride, into electricity that is then fed back into the power grid. This means that you are generating your own electricity. LED lights in the brake indicate the cycling speed and the power output. The communication between brake, VR interface and PC is wireless. The trainer itself has to be plugged into an electric point. The i-Genius includes the Black Track Steering Frame.

This product will give you a setup headache

PostedDecember 9, 2013
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Expensive
Took over 3 days to really get it setup ,and I'm still scratching my head on occasions.
Tacx support is virtually none existent, when you read all the posts on various sites you wonder why you spent so much money as it seems that the equipment is constantly having problems.
Having said all the above I've now used it for 2 small training sessions ,and things appear to be ok The next thing is to put my hand in my pocket and purchase the films.
Before purchasing ensure your PC has enough punch ,you can find all the requirments on the Tacx site

Overall a nice trainer, will recommend.

Yes, I recommend this product.
This is a expensive trainer, I have purchased 3 of these, needs a lot of care while handling, out of the 3 one had stopped working, took a while to get my problem sorted,
Why I recommend this trainer is because the ride experience is really good, you get involved in the ride and train seriously while having fun at the same time. Data collected is upto the mark and helpful for coaches and the athlete, Software is pretty good and gives ample data to look back on and improve performance. Multiplayer mode and the google map rides work well.
The ANT connections are working well, no connection drops experienced till date. The brake on the Tacx is very realistic.
Setup on the Tacx trainer is simple, Bike gets on and off the trainer quickly.
I connected it to a 55 inch screen and enjoyed the ride.
Will definitely recommend

Firstly Evans have been amazing the first genius I purchased had a problem I returned it and within 3 days I had a new one. This one works great as it should do for the money. The training I am getting is amazing one minute I am in Italy the next in France. All round BRILLIANT and Evans customer service unbeatable

This product is utter garbage

No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Poor quality, Expensive, just doesn't work
The software is terrible. Getting it to work once is very, very difficult but getting it to work every time seems impossible.
The connectivity between the parts is poor, the software crashes constantly and tech support from tacx is virtually non-existent. I have been trying to get this to work at all now for two weeks and have wasted countless hours. Downloading the patches doesn't even work.
The terrible thing is that I am a second time buyer. My Fortius didn't work well but I have spent a lot of money on the added extras and I (for some reason) believed that this upgrade would fix my problems. It didn't, it's worse. Please think carefully before spending this amount of money on this product.

Overall great but software a bit buggy

PostedMarch 23, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Looks great, fun
Cons: software
Very neat unit, especially with Blacktrack steering frame. Trainer was easy to set up and use initially. A couple of issues with the software though. A quick look at the Tacx forum (upgrade to version 3.8 from 3.7) was enough to sort it out.
Since then it has been trouble free. Have used the VR and RLV samples included with the software. Perhaps I'm a bit challenged but after about 5 minutes you forget you're on a trainer and and set about beating your best time. The stats you pull up after a ride are cool too. Yet to use the multiplayer as I still have to figure out how to connect my motorbike so I look super pro in cyberspace. It's fairly quiet as well.
All in all I'm very happy with the Genius and for the money Evans are knocking them out for I consider it great value too.

This product is big disapointment

PostedJanuary 24, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
Cons: Poor quality
I bought the product only couple of weeks back and it has had major problems. The wireless connection is not working time to time and to re-install (it really takes time). After 2-3 weeks finally the product stopped working totally (the engine doesn't move). The customer support from the Tacx (not Evans) did not even want/try to help.
