Superb Jacket

Posted07 January 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
I love this jacket. It looks great, is really warm and is very well made. Features a chest pocket and another hidden on the rear, as well as fingerless gloves built into the sleeves (although I don't use these). Also has really discrete, stylish, but very effective reflective trim at front and rear. And finally, it looks great. I actually enjoy wearing it. I was lucky enough to pick this up at half price in the end of year sale, but even at full price I would have been pleased.

I have the slightly older camouflage patterned version of this jacket and I'd quite happily say it's the best bit of kit I've ever bought.
I mainly use it for my daily commute to work over autumn and winter and it stands up to cold like nothing else I've ever owned. it's quite close fitting but there's enough room for a couple of thin layers underneath or one medium layer.
The extra long sleeve extensions are handy at bridging the gap between the jacket and your gloves, stopping any cold air getting. There's loads of pockets; one on your back, chest , right arm and sides. Although, being quite slim fitting you cant fit anything much bigger than a wallet in them without it being irritating.
To cut a long story short I would recommend this jacket to any commuters that want something really warm and comparitively lightweight (it does an amazing job at keeping you dry too considering Gore Bike Wear doesn't even advertise the fact...)
Yes the price is pretty steep but this jacket is worth every penny. I've had mine around 3 years now and it still looks almost like new. I'm a Gore Bike Wear convert, and I'm sure you will be too if you shell out for this.

Great for keeping warm in cooler weather

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable
I bought them for the on coming winter.
I tend to run warm and this jacket is fine for me below 8 degrees centigrade. A bit too warm above that!
Coldest I've used it is in 3 degrees and it kept me lovely and toasty - in fact I had to open the jacket up half way through a 30 mile cycle.
I'm a 36.5 inch chest and the medium fits fine - quite snug but enough space for 2 thin layers underneath.
Plenty of pockets and vents to help keep sweat at bay or for storage.
The only downside for me is the inability to roll up the arms when feeling warm. The arms are far to narrow to roll up much above the wrist. If you could roll up the arms it'd make it more suitable to 8 to 12 degrees but as it is its really got to be reasonably cool to wear this jacket. Probably an October to March sort of jacket - too warm outside of that.
Also water resistant - I got caught by a short sharp shower and this coped fine. Its not going to cope with persistent heavy rain - you need a proper water proof for that.

Went out yesterday wearing this jacket. The weather was bright, sunny and FREEZZZZING.....Jacket works well keeping the cold wind out on the descents.Only wearing 2 s.sleeve b.layers underneath ,bit cold on arm, nothing unbearable. No sweat. Either v.breathable,as claimed, V. cold, as it was, or I wasn't working hard enough. Arm vents kept closed. I order a large size.(38inch chest for me) and it fitted me well.Maybe enough room for an other thin layer. Looking foward to trying out the jacket again in slightly warmer condition , to see how it gets on with Brits ever changing weather.
