Excellent wheel set!

PostedJuly 30, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: if it bothers you noise.
What a difference a new wheel set makes. I've only had them a few weeks, but had hopes before and they really don't disappoint, smooth & fast engagement! It says Flow rims on the product, but they're actually Flow Ex. They come with a couple of spare spokes too which is handy.
If you don't like loud hubs then these aren't for you, I don't mind... think it's my rebellious side coming out on quiet rides :)

No fuss wheels with easily sourced spare parts

PostedAugust 18, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, uk made hubs
I chose these wheels as they are well priced, use standard spokes that I can buy at any bike shop, and are reasonably light for type of wheel. The stans rim strip was out of stock, so I installed hundred mile an hour tape and has worked just fine.

Very difficult to mount tyres

PostedJune 6, 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Lightweight
Cons: tyre mounting exceptionally difficult
It appears that due to the low sidewall to the rims and the possibility to go tubeless the diameter of the rim where the tyre bead sits is larger than a "normal" rim. This means that mounting tyres is very difficult. I am not sure but the hope rim tape which is fabric may make matters worse as due to the relative tightness the tyre bead digs into the tape therefore preventing it moving to the eged of the rim, which gives an off centre tyre Having tried 2 tyres with the same results I used plenty of soapy water which resulted in one side of the tyre eventually seated all the way around and the other side about 80% (this was after about an hour and a half of trying) When I looked the following day the final section had seated okay. Yes I know that the use of a garage compressor or floor pump is suggested - but when you are in the middle of Dalby Forest and get a puncture this is not going to help (slime filled tubes a good idea). Perhaps the use of a hard plastic rim tape may help as this may allow the tyre to slip over it rather than digging into the soft fabric tape.
However once on the bike all is well - plenty of noise from the hub freewheel, and the wide rim helps increase the volume of the tyres and give them a more stable base - helpful if you weigh 14 stone.

Pros: Good value, Good quality, Lightweight
I haven't had the wheel for that long, but it has already taken a fair amount of abuse with no problems. Its pretty light and easy to set up for tubeless. You just need to get the Stans valve and rim tape. The only thing that some people may not like is the incredible loud freehub. To stop it, pedal more!

good and burly

PostedJune 17, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality
I got the set. People weren't kidding about how loud the rear hubs are. However, very worth it. They have taken a beating at Santa Cruz Soquel Demo Forest and Truckee, California. Staying very solid and true with far less flex than my stock wheels on my 2007 Stumpy FSR. These don't feel lighter, but are far burlier.
