Customer reviews for Brooks Brick Lane Pannier

Brooks Brick Lane Pannier

This pair of commuter bags for traditional transport bicycles is entirely made of water resistant cotton with leather finishing. On the top of the bag attachment to the bicycle rack these panniers feature a crossed elastic to fasten additional objects to carry during urban transit. Last, but not least, the Roll Up Panniers are "self closing", as they feature magnets on the flaps.

Good option for occasional use of panniers

Posted16 July 2014
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Lightweight, Looks great, convenient
Cons: Expensive
I like these panniers - I use it to take groceries home, carry folders and documents on the way to meetings. They're not designed for transporting very heavy and bulky items, but then you would be buying other types of products. The panniers are easy to install and use, they roll up and the flap secures with magnets. When you use them you simply unclip and release the sides. They don't move around when you carry items which are heavy enough to weigh them down. As far as theft is concerned, recently I had my brooks saddle stolen but the thief didn't bother with the panniers. I don't know why, maybe they don't look trendy enough.

Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Bought this for my wifes Pashley Bike, because she uses it to go to the local shops, with the new foldable pannier she can carry more stuff and keep it dry and secure, it looks good too !

Pricey but practical

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
Unlike Brooks saddles I don't think this item warrants the hefty price tag. It is well made and performs the the task well but there is nothing special about its construction. Unfortunately there is little choice out there if one is looking for a simple roll up panner to leave on their bike. If you can justify the expense it does do the job admirably. I leave it on my bike the whole time so it is always there if needed. Plenty of space to carry things for my everyday commute and the limited water resistance has held up throughout the autumn very well. Not once have the contents ended up remotely soggy, even in some heavy rain.

pricey but attractive ,stitched together to last

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive, will take a couple of minutes to fit
To be honest when I first received this I was going to return it because at first sight it looked as if the bag did not justify the asking price. However my wife who is a seamstress pointed out that the stitching on this is superb and should last years of heavy use. So I will give it a go. The design and looks of it are great. Though at that price I will not leave it on the rack when at the shops. That might turn out be annoying because it is hold in place by belts . Removal and fitting is consequently not as quick as on more modern panniers.

Swanky pannier

Posted30 April 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
It's hard to justify owning these luxurious panniers. They are quite beautiful. And, fortunately very practical and extremely durable. One can get two bottles of champagne in one and a whole salmon in the other quite easily.
