Great ride, flexible bike.

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
The Specialized Tricross looks sleek and quality and delivers a quick and solid ride. I bought this bike after reading a few reviews and weighing the pros and cons of road bikes.
Having ridden it for about 2 months I have no regrets - the Tricross is what I expected in a strong build, comfortable ride position, very responsive power-train and reliable gears and breaks.
The weight is a slight detractor, though far lighter than most MTBs. Off-road the Tricross is fun and surprisingly good in most conditions.
With SPDs added it's better than I expected.

Rugged and adaptable

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
I have owned this model for some months and find it an all round flexible and comfortable push-bike.
Like a previous reviewer I wanted something that was adaptable in terms of rough -stuff use as well as road and touring use.
On the road i have fitted it with slicker tyres which makes it a better ride but still it still feels a bit slower than my previous aged 531 road bike.
I tried fitting front mudguards but the shape of the front forks means race-blade type mudguards don't hang very well at all in terms of wheel clearance and I found fitting full length mudguards resulted in too much toe over lap for me with the compact frame though I do have large feet.
I decided to put it through its paces as a cyclo-cross bike by spending three days on the South Downs Way and found the bike really came into its own on the rough tracks I encountered. The Boroughs tyres provided excellent grip on the chalk and flinted tracks and proved admirabley puncture free. The frame, forks and saddle soaked up vibration and I was amazed at how comfortable and secure I felt, not least due to the excellent cantilever brakes.
All round a solid and adaptable bike and its come down in price even before the sale discount since I bought one..

Great bike

PostedMay 5, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great, adaptable
Cons: poor pedals, hard seat
Bought this bike 5 weeks ago after much research. Wanted a bike that was good on the roads, reasonable speed and could be adapted for touring. This bike certainly fits the bill...have completed three 40+ rides over Lake District hills and it handled them comfortably. Even with the 32" chunky tyres good speeds can be obtained. The bike absorbs poor road surfaces well and is very stable. The bonus ......I took the bike off-road onto forested trails, muddy quad bike courses, across fields and along narrow rocky descents in the hills of Northumberland and couldn't believe how well it performed .......not a lot of difference to my mountain bike! Haven't cycled any distances for years so have put my old saddle on bike for time being as it is a little softer! Replaced the plastic pedals and bought full mudguards for those wet winter months. Am looking forward to using the bike on a Coast2Coast ride this summer.

Great Bike all round bike!

PostedDecember 30, 2010
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: price cut 2 weeks after purchase
Having only recently gotten into cycling I did alot of research into which sort of bike to buy. I'd gone out on the road with a friend in a baptism of fire on my old mountain bike while he made light work of the cycle on his road bike but I didnt want a road specific bike as I also wanted to be able to take cycle routes that took in bridle paths and tracks as well as country roads etc. So after some research i settled on a cyclo cross as it seemed to be a good compromise between making the roads a lot easier but still affording some off road ability. The tricross I bought three weeks ago - after being struck by the amazing two tone matt black finish which really makes it look mean and having test ridden several other brands - and it has been great, versatile and surprisingly comfortable. After going out numerous times in the last three weeks everytime I get home I just want to get straight back out again, and I have since done the same ride with my friend and taken 45 minutes off my time just by having the right bike, as it makes you want to ride more. I would recoimmend this to anyone wanting a versatile new bicycle for every occasion.
