Good price and did the job well

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value
For a tool that the home mechanic is unlikely to use very often this is priced well and does the job perfectly. Quality seems fine and would have no qualms in recommending to others.

Nicely engineered but no use for me

Posted29 June 2011
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
Cons: didn't work
I have a steel frame from the '90s with 1" threaded headset. I liked the idea of this cup remover and it seems well made.
However, due to the way the split end curves back in (difficult to describe, but does not splay out in quite the way you might expect), this did not meet the inside of the headset cup. Hence, when tapping with a hammer the whole thing just passed through the steerer tube.
Removed headset cup in the end with some long metal rod from Wickes (a couple of quid) which I tapped against the inside of the cup, being sure to move around the cup.
