Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
As it does not come with instructions, had to make own best guesses on what to do - see below.
Fitted these to steel forks on a Reynolds 725 hybrid, (which have the same oval cross-section profile as 531 forks on our Audax bikes).
The shape of the aluminium mountings' fork contact surfaces is composed of several smaller curves - I guess so that it can fit around a wider variety of fork profiles.
I chose to grind the extra peaks between the smaller curves away, so that the mounting surface profile was closer to that of the shape of the fork.
Then fitted them onto the forks, with the supplied rubber strip between mounting surface and forks. N.B. it is best that the ends of the strip are not near where the botls run - the bolts can catch against them when being fitted, and not go though the inside brackets' holes because of this. Have found it is better to have the ends under the central section of the brackets.
The bolts take a 4mm Allen key, and the lock-nuts take an 8mm spanner.
As was using the mounting set for a Tubus Tara low rider, which does come with instructions to torque all its bolts up to 4.3Nm, also followed this as a guide also for the LM-1 mounting bracket bolts. As did not have a 4.3Nm torque wrench, used the one I did have at its lowest setting of 5Nm.
For my forks and the Tara low rider, the length of the bolts was not too long or short - pretty well just right.
The fitting has survived a very very bumpy few days holiday over bridleways and South Downs. - So it did the job without complaint.

Solid and effective

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Looks great, well engineered
I am sure forks with eyelets do exist, but if you have the more usual type without then you need a means to attach your tubus Tara to the fork and this could be it.
Like other Tubus products it is reassuringly solid and complete. I wouldn't say that the fit on my 1980s sports tourer steel forks is perfect but it is hard to know how that could be achieved for all forks and this is a good compromise. I guess something like a jubilee clip with a bolt and nut could be made to work but it wouldn't look so good and I would worry more about the paintwork.
I still haven't used it "on tour" but for now I would recommend this product

Bolts too short

Posted01 January 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: bolts too short
As a previous reviewer has stated, the supplied bolts were too short too go around my forks. M5 bolts from a DIY shop dod the trick however. Other than that, pretty sturdy!

Screws too small

Posted15 August 2010
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
Cons: screws too small
I have a 31mm dimater fork, which is in the recommended 20mm-32mm, but the screws are only 30mm long, so I can't fit it. I have to find separate 40mm stainless steel screws to mount it. Not the end of the world, but be aware of it.
