Simple to use

PostedJune 9, 2013
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, easy to use
Very well made and does not need to be bolted down to use, it took all of 3 minutes to build from out the box, and truing a wheel with park tools spoke tools SIMPLE two wheels trued in 5 minutes.
If like me you keep paying £10 a time to true a wheel this will pay for itself in no time.

Excellent Product

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality
Heavy duty - which is what I wanted. I'm sure there cheaper wheel truing stands out there but how long will they last? This is easy to assemble and comes with full instructions on truing, centring and dishing. Although it has holes for bolting onto a bench, it works free-standing. I am very happy with it.

Yes, I recommend this product.
i was suprised at the size and weight of the stand.well made, nicely painted and very sturdy. there is very little maintenance needed and the instructions give you a brief outline on how to true a wheel.
if your just getting into cycling(like me) the park truing stand is perfect for the home shed which will serve you for many years.

Shoddy product?

PostedAugust 12, 2011
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros: does the job.
Cons: Poor quality, Expensive, poor assembly instructions
Just bought this at a good price from Evans having price matched from a few other cheaper websites. However, very disappointed so far. The assembly instructions are appalling with part names in the text not matching up with the layout picture nor the list of parts in the table provided. Some of the parts and attachment points are simply drawn incorrectly. Three of the four bolts to attach the base were badly machined and I had to take a file to them followed by a clout with a hammer to get them to fit. All in all the instructions look and feel like they have been badly translated from the original korean or something but this is a product from the USA isn't it?
So...before I actually used it my impressions were of a shoddy product. It actually does the job well despite all this so I have given it fair rather than poor.
I have a lot of other great Park tools so this is especially disappointing. Suggest you try another brand.

Park TS-8 Truing Stand

PostedFebruary 18, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good value, Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
Having bought a cheap wheel truing jig before, I was a bit wary that this would be poor compared to the TS-2, which is a beautiful bit of kit but way too dear.
However, I set this up on my kitchen work top, and managed to get a nice true wheel first time. It is typical Park Tool quality, and a really good value item for the home mechanic.
Got the item 15% off in Evans' post-Christmas sale too, so a real no-brainer, but knowing what I know now, I would have happily paid full whack for this.
