Typical Thomson finish

PostedMay 18, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Lightweight, Looks great
Typical of all Thomson kit the finish and quality of this stem is beyond reproach. It's slightly more flexible that the 4 bolt OE stem which I've replaced with this stem but overall I'm very satisfied. All I need is the matching seat post now!

Thomson X2 Stem

Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
The road bike equivalent of the X4. Made to the same superlative standard; I can't think of a better finished component. Looks good, comes in a wide range of sizes and is light. Can be reversed for higher bar height if desired. Only downside is cost, but remember the adage 'light, strong, cheap: choose any two'!
Comes sized for 1 1/8" steerer and 31.8mm bars. I used a cut-down Thomson shim to fit to my 1" steerer Kestrel 200 EMS. I'm very pleased with the result.

Is there another stem?

PostedMarch 24, 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
A few years back I had a nasty shunt when my stem broke – own fault: sub-standard component, overtightened, hence weld failure.
But after concussion and a dislocated shoulder I vowed 'never again' and it's been Thomson all the way on road and MTB ever since.
They're beautiful, precision made and they come in lovely little canvas bags.
There is no other stem.

Excellent stem

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
This is a work of beauty, and adds a finishing touch to any high-end bike.
It is also notably stiffer than other stems that I have used in the past, so brilliant for sharp handling.
