Grippy and good puncture protection

Posted05 September 2012
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight, Looks great
Cons: Expensive
This is the 2nd set of these tyres I have purchased. Compared to other tyres I have used, they are very grippy in the wet and dry, and they've never slid from under me. I must have done a couple of thousand miles on the last set and have only had 2 punctures on Merseyside roads, which are covered with glass. One of those punctures was from an inch-long, sharp piece of metal which entered the tyre when I slammed my brakes on to avoid a car that pulled out on me. The front tyre is a couple of mm narrower than the rear so it's good to look down and see you've got as little as possible to push in front of you, while still knowing you can rely on it on wet and twisty roads. I suppose they're fairly expensive but in this case, you get what you pay for.

Great tyres

Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Comfortable, Looks great
Wondered if these we worth the extra money. Having tried them they are the best tyres I have ever ridden by a long way. Grippy and puncture resistant (so far!).
Difficult to fit but I think that was just me being out of practice.

Early review 2 weeks test

Posted23 March 2011
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
These were a lot better than the standard Rubino Pro tyres the bike came with. I looked at these and the Michelin Pro. I would like to try the Michelin's for rolling resistance and they may be better for race/sportives. The feel on these is much better than the standard Rubio's. The bike seems to float, role better and cornering is improved. The tyres are marked front and rear on the pack but you can't see the difference between the two on the bike despite the difference in width. The rubber feels sticky and I would guess it helps with cornering. Only 80 miles to date so I will write up a few more comments after 500 miles.

So far so good.

Posted10 October 2010
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Good quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
I do believe that a good set of tires is essential no matter on what kind of cycling is done.
So far I've not had a really good test ride using these tires. but so far they've been good, the grip is far better than the previous tires I had(came with the bike) and have as yet not had a puncture. The weather while cycling so far has mostly been dry but had one day with a wet road from a shower earlier in the day.
I was expecting the tires to be a little thicker to help with puncture protection, but as long as I have few to no punctures during the tyres lifetime I will be happy.

grippy & good puncture resistance

Posted26 January 2010
Yes, I recommend this product.
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Good quality
I only ride sportives but have been using these and their previous non-black chilli versions for years. I tend to buy a new set every year (about 2,000 miles) and have found they have good puncture resistance. I've used them on Fulcrum 3's & now on Shimano Ultegras. They have been fairly easy to get on & off the Ultegras.
